Taiwo Fagbohungbe

Master's Student in English | Published Author | Legal Assistant | Editor

Taiwo Fagbohungbe is a passionate storyteller, literary scholar, and legal assistant whose work bridges the worlds of literature, history, and social justice. Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in English Studies at Arizona State University, Taiwo is deeply engaged in postcolonial theory, cultural identity, and the transformative power of narrative.

He is the co-author of the civil rights novel Because I'm Black: The Story of Jesse Washington, a gripping exploration of racial injustice in early 20th-century America, written in collaboration with California trial attorney D.W. Duke. Taiwo also appears as “Prince Dapo” in Duke’s latest historical fantasy novel, In Search of the Golden Chalice: The Untold Story—a role that celebrates his Yoruba heritage and love for dramatic storytelling.

With experience as an editor at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Printing Press, Taiwo has honed his skills in refining powerful prose and ensuring clarity in both creative and academic writing. His background includes teaching English literature during his National Youth Service and working remotely as a legal assistant, where he conducts legal research and edits manuscripts tied to civil rights cases.

Through his writing, teaching, and research, Taiwo is committed to reclaiming African narratives, examining historical injustices, and inspiring a new generation of readers and thinkers.
